Institute for Circular Economy (ICED), Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and Vietnam World Energy Council (WEC-VN) published the World Energy Issues Monitor 2021: Vietnam.

Recently, the issues of the global energy crisis receives lots of attention from different sources: from government companies, international organizations, to domestic and foreign enterprises. In that manner, Institute for Circular Economy Development (ICED), Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam World Energy Council (WEC-VN) join forces to provide the official document of World Energy Issues Monitor: Vietnam 2021 which is indexed in the World Energy Issues Monitor 2022 by World Energy Council (WEC). The Monitor helps define the world energy agenda and its evolution over time. Furthermore, a high-level perception of what constitutes issues of critical uncertainty is explained and also resulted in the indicating of those that require immediate action or act as developing signals for the future.

Notably, Vietnam newly joins the World Energy Council in 2021 and the Monitor mentioned in this article is the first official document the country provides as proof of determination to pursue an effective energy transition plan. The cooperation between ICED and WEC-VN opens up many opportunities for research related to the topic of energy development together with a chance for other organization to join with the team and creates more valuable values for the prosperity of the energy industry in Vietnam.
