On April 20, 2022, the Institute for Circular Economy Development (ICED) had an online meeting with Professor Vilas Nitivattanano, Dean of the School of Environment, Natural Resources and Development, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
On the ICED side, there was the participation of Assoc. Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan (Director), Dr. Nguyen Kieu Lan Phuong, MSc. Le Ba Nhat Minh and MSc. Tu Minh Thuan (guest). On the AIT side, there was the participation of Professor Vilas Nitivattanano, Dean of the Faculty of Environment, Natural Resources and Development, AIT, Thailand.
In the meeting, ICED delegates introduced the circular economy activities of the Institute categorized into 6 main streams, including circular economy in urban and industrial areas, agriculture, plastics, renewable energy, innovation, and coastal areas and islands. Professor Vilas also introduced his background and research activities related to urban innovation and sustainability as well as some other areas at AIT such as food safety, aquaculture, ocean plastics, smart city.
Concluding at the meeting, the two sides agreed to propose a number of cooperation activities in future such as student exchange, building mutual project in circular economy, organization and participation in seminars, workshops, develop short-term training programs on circular economy.
